We headed out late, not arriving until around 7:30 pm. We still had some packing to do there, where we stuffed food into the sides of our packs, looking for headlamps and extra clothes given that it was a little chilly, having been cold at the Smokies’ crest as we drove to the Kephart Prong trailhead.
